Taking care of your health is a priority and nobody knows that more than physicians and healthcare providers.
It can sometimes be difficult to find ways to stay healthy, so we’ve asked members of our Baylor College of Medicine community to share what they do in their daily lives to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Q: What health decisions start your day?
A: I try to fit in a workout most mornings of the week. I enjoy a mix of the rowing machine, elliptical and yoga.
Q: What is your go-to healthy breakfast?
A: Low-fat cottage cheese with an avocado.
Q: What is your favorite type of exercise?
A: I like mixing things up but really enjoy a combination of cardio and yoga. Having a dance party with my four-year-old is also great exercise and lots of fun!
Q: What keeps you motivated during your workout?
A: Workouts are a perfect time to catch up on podcasts and listen to audiobooks.
Q: What activities do you do when you can’t fit in a full workout?
A: I always try to take the stairs at work to fit in a bit more exercise.
Q: What is your favorite healthful snack?
A: Dried chili mango and all kinds of fruit.
Q: Do you take vitamins and if so, which ones?
A: No, I don’t take any vitamins.
Q: What do you include in your child’s lunch?
A: We try to encourage her to eat a wide variety of foods and to have treats in moderation.
Q: What is your nighttime skin regimen?
A: Cetaphil facial cleanser.
Q: What hobbies do you have to help you relax?
A: I am an avid reader, enjoy cooking, and love spending time with my family.
Q: Do you use a pedometer or Fitbit and what is your daily step goal?
A: I have a Fitbit and try to reach 10,000 steps daily.
Q: What is your favorite health tip that you live by?
A: Everything in moderation.
