Is tailgating part of your football ritual? Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital Registered Dietitian Kristi King says its easy to indulge in tasty tailgating treats.

She says healthy substitutions for tailgating classic recipes are an easy way to enjoy food without packing on extra calories. Try her take on a healthier buffalo chicken dip for your next tailgate.

Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip

Ingredients

  • 9-11 oz. chicken breast, cooked, and shredded
  • 1/2 cup of reduced fat cream cheese
  • 1 cup of non-fat plain greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup 2% sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 tsps. of ranch seasoning
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce

Directions

Combine all the ingredients in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.  Stir constantly until items are incorporated and dip is heated through, about 10-15 minutes.

This recipe can be served warm or cold. Serve it will celery and carrot sticks for a healthier take on traditional chips or crackers.
