Refreshing summer recipe ideas
Enjoying a refreshing margarita on a breezy patio is one of the pleasures of summer but unfortunately that frozen concoction that helps us hang on is full of calories. According to Kristi King, registered dietitian at Baylor College of Medicine, ‘ritas can have upwards of 900 calories.
So why not skip the restaurant margarita and mix up your own batch at home? They’re perfect for backyard get-togethers with friends.
King offers up one of her favorite margarita recipes that contains just 200 calories.
Skinny Margarita Ingredients
- 2 oz. tequila
- 1 ½ oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz. agave nectar
