Try these DIY spice blends

Looking for a new way to spice up your next meal? Check out these two homemade spice blends from the Culinary Health Education for Families (CHEF) program at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

The first blend, an all-purpose seasoning, includes turmeric, coriander, salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and cumin. The second blend is a spice rub that can be used for meats, including chicken, beef, pork and lamb.

Both spice blends can be stored in an airtight container for up to six months.

The CHEF program offers classes to families and children that focus on simple cooking skills and nutrition education.
