Looking for the perfect appetizer to complement your next Tex-Mex meal? Try these homemade salsas from the Culinary Health Education for Families (CHEF) program at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

The first recipe, salsa verde, includes garlic, white onion, serrano chile pepper, cilantro, and tomatillos. The second recipe, salsa verde en molcajete, includes broiled tomatillos, garlic, white onion, serrano chile pepper, and cilantro.

The CHEF program offers classes to families and children that focus on simple cooking skills and nutrition education.
