Throwback Thursday: Running for a cause
Getting a great workout is always easier when you’re with a buddy. Contributing to a worthwhile cause can also help with fitness motivation. Check out this 1984 photo from the Aesculapian Yearbook, courtesy of the Baylor College of Medicine Archives.
These students were participating in the Bayou City Fun Run, which is now the Bayou City Classic 10K and 5K benefitting the Houston Parks Board.
If you would like to break a sweat while raising funds for a great cause like these ladies, consider registering for the any of the following events:
- The Susan G. Komen Houston Race for the Cure will take place Oct. 1. Register to join the Baylor Breast Center Team.
- The Houston Walk4Hearing will be held Oct. 8 at the University of Houston.
- The Baylor College of Medicine Wellness 5K Race/Walk will take place Oct 22. Register before Sept. 30 and enjoy a discounted entry fee.
- Join the Baylor Memory Walkers Team on Nov. 5 at the University of Houston for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
