Finding fresh foods and farmer’s markets
Many of us crave the opportunity to buy fresh, local foods but our busy day-to-day lives call for us to mainly shop at whichever supermarket is most convenient for us.
Now the Resource Stewardship and Sustainability Program at Baylor College of Medicine has decided to start bringing local markets to the College community with monthly market days. Yesterday marked the first-ever Market Day, as Artisana Bread Company visited the College, bringing its artisanal breads straight to Baylor.
Even if you don’t get the opportunity to attend Market Days on our campus, don’t forget to check out local farmer’s markets in your area so you can more easily find fresh, locally grown foods.
If you’re part of the Baylor College of Medicine community and attended the first Market Day, let us know what you think in the comment section!
