BCM tops U.S. News & World Report’s list as the best primary care and medical-research institution in Texas. Nationally, the BCM ranked in the top 20 medical colleges.

Easing joint pain
Osteoarthritis is common, affecting more than 70 percent of the population between the ages of 55 and 77. The good news? BCM researchers find that increasing an amount of naturally occurring protein could help ease joint pain and help patients suffering osteoarthritis.

Aspirin prevents skin cancer?
A new study published in the academic journal Cancer found 60,000 post-menopausal women (who were light-skinned Caucasians, a pool of patients that have the highest risk of cancer) over 12 years who took aspirin at least a couple times a week had a 20 percent lower risk of melanoma.
