Throwback Thursday: Seeing double
Did you know that both red blood cells and taste buds were discovered using microscopes? The all-important device continues to be a mainstay in the world of medicine. This is evident when you take a look at these two photos that were taken over 30 years apart at Baylor College of Medicine.
On the left, we have a photo of a Baylor student gleefully using a microscope along with some of his colleagues in 1966. On the right, we have two students who were also putting their microscope skills to use, circa 1990-91. If you look closely, you’ll notice a possible UPB – unidentified photo bomber.
