70 years of victories: Building toward the future
As we reflect on 70 years in Houston, Baylor College of Medicine is also looking toward the future. In addition to preparing doctors, scientists and researchers for tomorrow, BCM is dedicated to delivering world-class healthcare at the Texas Medical Center through the Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center on the McNair Campus.
The BCM Medical Center is located at the corner of Old Spanish Trail and Cambridge. It eventually will be the home to most of the College’s private adult clinical practices, as well as much of surgery, diagnostics and other clinical and hospital services. Licensed as a hospital, it will offer specialized outpatient and inpatient care. Most of the focus will be on expanded specialty services.
The BCM Medical Center will open as the second patient care facility on the McNair Campus. Already fully operational is the Lee and Joe Jamail Specialty Care Center, which includes the medical practices of psychiatry, ophthalmology, dermatology, plastic surgery and the Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders Center.
Putting the patient first
“What will set us apart as we move forward is the way we treat our patients. That is our highest priority. This is what Baylor College of Medicine will be known for—putting patients first,” said Dr. Paul Klotman, president and CEO at the College. “Our priority always will be to serve our community first and we are confident that is what we are accomplishing on the McNair Campus.”
