Q: What health decisions start your day?
A: I like to eat a healthy breakfast to start my day.

Q: What is your go-to healthy breakfast?
A: Oatmeal or a breakfast sandwich with egg whites and Canadian bacon.

Q: What is your favorite type of exercise?
A: Walking.

Q: What keeps you motivated during your workout?
A: I love listening to music and I most enjoy walking with someone else.

Q: What activities do you do when you can’t fit in a full workout?
A: I walk around a lot at work and my walk is pretty brisk.

Q: What have you been doing to stay healthy during COVID-19?
A: Surprisingly, I have been able to keep off the weight; however, I’m not yet quite to my ideal body weight. My advice for coping with the pandemic has been spending time with family and taking a little time out for yourself that you enjoy.

Q: What is your favorite healthful snack?
A: Pretzels or fruit.

Q: Do you take vitamins and if so, which ones?
A: Yes, I take a daily multivitamin – Zinc and Vitamin D.

Q:  What do you include in your child’s lunch?
A: have an 18-year-old senior and her lunch habits have not changed at all since she was about three. She eats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, fruit and water.

Q: How do you make an unhealthy recipe healthy?
A: For breakfast, we replace regular bacon with turkey bacon. We also use turkey meat for burgers and have started substituting rice with cauliflower rice.

Q: What is your nighttime skin regimen?
A: I use a cleanser, mist/spray that works like toner, followed by a moisturizer.

Q: What hobbies do you have to help you relax?
A: I’ve been an active band mom and percussion mom. That has been very relaxing for me over the last year! When I’m not doing that, I like to read!

Q: What is your go-to Houston restaurant for a healthy meal?
A: I don’t really have a particular restaurant. I have found most restaurants offer a healthy foods section on their menu with a variety to choose from!
