Ryan middle schoolers get inside look at practicing medicine, science at Baylor
From practicing surgical skills to learning about the legacy of Dr. Michael E. DeBakey, more than 300 Baylor College of Medicine Academy at Ryan students participated in activities and presentations given by Baylor faculty members at an open house on Feb. 13.
Presenters included President, CEO and Executive Dean Dr. Paul Klotman, Dr. Tyson Pillow, Dr. Nilson Salas, Fanny Schultea, and students from the Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions.
Established in 2013 by the Houston Independent School District in partnership with Baylor, BCMA at Ryan is a health sciences magnet school which offers curriculum ranging from biotechnology to neuroscience. View photos from the visit below and learn more about BCMA at Ryan.
