Healthy Habits: Dr. Eufa Leke enjoys running

It can sometimes be difficult to find ways to stay healthy, so we’ve asked members of our Baylor College of Medicine community to share what they do in their daily lives to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Efua Leke, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, shares some of her healthy habits with us.

Answer: At least 20 ounces of water by 10 a.m.

A: Veggie omelet.

A: HIIT (high-intensity interval training) with strength training.

Q: What keeps you motivated during your workout? 

A: Fitness goals.

A: Stretching.

A: Almonds.

Q: What do you include in your child’s lunch? 

A: Apple, yogurt and a sandwich.

Q: How do you make an unhealthy recipe healthy (healthy substitutions)? 

A: Olive oil, minimizing red meat.

Q: What is your nighttime skin regimen? 

A: Wash, toner, serum/moisturizer.

Q: What hobbies do you have to help you relax? 

A: Running.

Q: What is your go-to Houston restaurant for a healthy meal? 

A: Local Foods.

Q: Do you use an activity tracker or Fitbit and what is your daily step goal? 

A: Yes, 13,000 steps.
