Throwback Thursday: Visit the Library!

When your house is too quiet and open mic night at the coffee shop is too distracting, there’s one place students can always study in peace – the library. And for medical students with a lot to learn, the Texas Medical Center Library is one of the best resources on hand for self-education.

This 1976 photo from Inside Baylor Medicine, courtesy of the Baylor College of Medicine Archives, shows the dedication of the first expansion to the Texas Medical Center Library. In fact, this ceremony took place on Jan. 14, 1976, almost 41 years ago to the day.

Now, the TMC Library offers 198,072 bound journal volumes, 134,768 print volumes, 15,160 electronic journals, 9,195 electronic books and 240 databases. Chances are, you’ll find what you need at the library.

And, fun fact – all of the images from our Throwback Thursday posts come from the Baylor College of Medicine Archives, which is housed inside the library. Thanks, everyone!
